Event Details
In 2020, current and former employees at Women Deliver publicly shared testimonies of racial discrimination, harassment, bias, and a toxic work environment. This came amidst a global reckoning on racial justice, and prompted Women Deliver to reflect on what it is and what it wants to be, have difficult conversations, and begin a journey towards becoming an explicitly anti-racist organization.
Now, 2.5 years later Women Deliver is proud to say that we’re becoming a global NGO of the 21st Century.
This essential process has been, and continues to be, challenging. Hear Women Delivery share honest reflections and lessons learned to benefit others individuals and organizations in the global development sector.
This session shares our journey of examining our work to ensure to our actions are led by feminist movements in low- and middle-income countries and embody anti-racism and anti-colonialism. [Optional background reading ahead before attending this session: “Investigation of Workplace Concerns at Women Deliver, oct. 16, 2020.”

This is a session that welcomes all. And this is a session intended to support men in their efforts to advance gender equity. This session raises questions about the extent to which our understanding of male allyship is actually in service of gender equity. It challenges our traditional ideas of leadership and heroism. And explores what it looks like for men to lead and to ally in different ways.

DEI work is profoundly personal, it is profoundly structural and it is profoundly disruptive. At the organizational level what do you need to do to bring about transformation and demonstrate sustainable DEI change in your organization across the countries where you operate? What is required of you, as a leader, to bring about this change?
ㅤ
Best-selling author and former Global Chief Diversity Officer of Sodexo, a company that operates in 55+ countries with over 400k employees serving 100 million customers on a daily basis, brings her wealth of experience, humbling moments and best practice examples. She will share a framework for transformative leaders and others committed to embedding rather then bolting on DEI to ensure lasting change.
ㅤ
With Dr. Anand, you’ll delve into the three c’s:
Curiosity to be self-aware and use yourself as an instrument of change and be vulnerable enough to know where your gaps are and be ready to seek that out.
Courage to seek out disruptive experiences.
Commitment to follow through with actions including holding teams accountable, clear measurement, embedding in vs bolting on to systems.
